A sip of wine anyone? The Rio Rancho Players are now in rehearsals for their sixth production, Joseph Kesselring’s dark-comedy classic, Arsenic and Old Lace, under the direction of Kay Peters Johnson.
Arsenic, which has been viewed by thousands of theater patrons, centers around the Brewster sisters, who in the confines of their Victorian mansion cheerily murder senior males by extending their hospitality with a glass of arsenic-laced, elderberry wine. This laugh-a-minute comedy takes a wild variety of twists and turns and offers a surprise ending to this award-winning masterpiece. The play is being presented in dessert theater style, with all patrons served a dessert and beverage during the performance. Performances will be at St. Francis Episcopal Church Parrish Hall theater, located at 2903 Cabezon Blvd. plays host to the 9 performances, which includes an opening night Gala on April 27th, and a Mother’s Day High Tea on May 12th with special food and beverage. All evening performances, April 27th, May 3rd, 10th, and 11th are at 7:30pn. Matinees on April 28th, May 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th are at 2:00pm.
